In the realm of material culture and design, there exists a profound intersection between objects and societal norms that shapes our understanding of gender and beyond.

Through a deep dive into how design objects influence and mirror social, cultural, and political environments, I try to offer a unique perspective on the significance of everyday items in our lives. By exploring the relationship between design and society, we can question the inherent biases and assumptions embedded within the artefacts we interact with on a daily basis. My work emphasises participatory methodologies, which allow for a more inclusive and collaborative approach to studying material culture. By involving individuals in the research process, we create a space for diverse voices to contribute to the conversation surrounding (non)gendered artefacts, fostering a more holistic understanding of the topic. In addition to academic pursuits, I am dedicated to developing innovative curricula that challenge traditional narratives and encourage students to explore new perspectives. By integrating theory and practice in their teaching approach, I aim to inspire students to think critically about the objects that surround them and the societal constructs that influence their design. I invite us to collectively reconsider our relationship with the objects we interact with daily, encouraging us to see them as more than just mere commodities, but as reflections and materialities of culture at large.
